It's Me, Hi! (I'm The Problem, It's Me)
About the Session
It's Me... Hi... I'm the problem it's me... Did this statement speak to you? Then look no further! This session focuses on the feeling and impact of imposter syndrome in student affairs professionals that feel like they are the problem, all the time. Even when told they are meeting expectations (or even going above and beyond), there is still no subsiding the feeling of not being enough in their role. But how do you just wake up one day and not feel this? You cannot. Throughout a facilitated discussion, the goal of this presentation is to bring awareness to and normalize these feelings, especially since there is no ""cure"" for it. By naming, defining, and sharing experiences of imposter syndrome through a game, participants will be able to foster a community of support and empowerment. They will learn strategies to take with them back into their roles and beyond.
