Save a Life: Food Allergies and Anaphylaxis

About the Session

The purpose of this program is to equip all Student Affairs staff with essential knowledge about food allergies and the skills to respond effectively to anaphylaxis. Developed in alignment with Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) guidelines, this training provides comprehensive information relevant to the presence of food across campus and how to prevent and manage severe allergic reactions, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for students with food allergies. By increasing staff awareness and confidence, this training aims to reduce allergy-related incidents across various student affairs settings and help ensure students feel respected and protected.

  1. Identify and Describe Common Food Allergens and Symptoms of Allergic Reactions.
  2. Outline Steps to Take During an Allergic Reaction Emergency.
  3. Demonstrate the Proper Use of an Epinephrine Auto-Injector.
