Getting to Know More Student Affairs Staff and Students
Welcome Jordan Perry!
Jordan Perry (they/them or she/her pronouns) is thrilled to be part of the Wellness and Prevention Services team at Appalachian State University. They were born and raised about an hour east of Boone in Iredell County, got their bachelor's degree from UNC Asheville, and their master's degree from UNC Chapel Hill. Jordan is working on their doctorate in Educational Leadership at Appalachian State University.
They have worked in public health for 16 years, including 12 years in higher education up and down the East Coast. Nationally, Jordan works with the American College Health Association on the Healthy Campus Leadership Team. They are engaged in queer activism, play roller derby, and enjoy trying new recipes and learning about plants.

"Born and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Christian Martin (He/Him) is a senior Middle Grades Education major with a double concentration in Social Studies and English language arts. As a current student at App State, Christian has been involved with many organizations including Student Government Association, Gospel Choir, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., and Student Orientation (SOUL). Christian has a strong passion for diversity and inclusion, and serves as the Student Coordinator for the Multicultural Center and also works as a student intern for Chief Diversity Officer, Jamie Parson. During his free time, Christian enjoys spending time with friends, hiking, trying new restaurants, and reading."
